MATTHEW IVAN BENNETT

MATTHEW IVAN BENNETT is the Resident Playwright of Plan-B Theatre Company.
 
His plays RADIO HOUR: FRANKENSTEIN, BLOCK 8 and DI ESPERIENZA were commissioned by Plan-B and comprise the 2008/2009 season.  DI ESPERIENZA was also workshopped as part of the New American Playwrights Project at the Utah Shakespearean Festival.
 
His plays COLD and MESA VERDE have been seen onstage as part of Plan-B's Script-In-Hand Series.  He has also written for four of Plan-B's five SLAMs. 
 
His radio plays, LAVENDER and EXILE, commissioned for Plan-B’s annual RADIO HOUR, were performed for a national audience on Halloween 2007 through KUER and XM.  His one-acts, TO GO BOLDLY and THE VOICES, have appeared onstage with Circle Theatre in Chicago and Chicago Shakespeare's Shorts.
 
He performed as Puck in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM with the Utah Shakespearean Festival's educational tour and graduated magna cum laude from Southern Utah University with a degree in Theatre Arts.  His first play, THE WHITE LIGHT OF TERRENCE, received awards at the American College Theatre Festival.

Oh - and he's 30.
